Colleges in Oklahoma City, OK

Oklahoma City is the capital and largest city of the state of Oklahoma. The city is ranked the eight-largest in the U.S. by land area. The city is set in the middle of an active oil field. The city is home to various professional sports teams including the NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder.

Rose State College

Rose State was founded in 1970 it is located just minutes away from downtown Oklahoma City. The two-year college is composed of five divisions: Business and Information Technology, Engineering and Science, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences making up almost 60 degree and occupational programs to choose from. Enrollment of the college is 11,897 with an average class size of nineteen.

Langston University

Langston University was founded in April of 1890. Langston University is the only historically black college in Oklahoma. The main campus is located in Langston, Oklahoma with University Centers in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Students can earn their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in a variety of programs. Student life is extremely active, even earning a season on the show College Hill on television station BET.

Brown Mackie College

Brown Mackie College was originally founded in 1892 in Kansas, then known as the Kansas Wesleyan School of Business. Brown Mackie has since expanded to 28 locations around the United States, including Oklahoma City. Students can earn their associates or bachelor’s degree through a variety of career focused programs.

Central State Beauty Academy

Central State Beauty Academy was created by the Oklahoma State Legislature to license and regulate schools of cosmetology and beauty salons. It was one of the first schools to be licensed. Students can choose to pursue a career in Cosmetology or Esthetics.

DeVry University

DeVry University was founded in 1931 as the DeForest Training School in Chicago. The school now offers students the option to earn their degree either online or on one of their many campuses offered through the United States. The school offers programs in business administration, computer information systems, engineering technology, and network and communications management.

Francis Tuttle Technology Center

Francis Tuttle Technology Center is a career and technology education center. The center serves both high school and adult students. High school students can take transitioning programs in various programs to prepare them for their careers. Students can earn academic certification in a variety of programs such as real estate, insurance, and business management.

Heritage College

This career college prepares students to take the next step. Students can train to be a Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, Massage Therapist, Surgical Technologist, Pharmacy Technician and many more.

ITT Technical Institute

One of the most widely spread technical institutes, ITT Tech, as it is most commonly known, offers over 130 campuses in 38 states. The school was founded in 1946 and now boasts over 80,000 students total. Students can earn AAS, BAS, and masters.

Southern Nazarene University

Originally founded in 1899, Southern Nazarene is a private Christian liberal arts university located in Oklahoma City. Students can earn their bachelors and masters degrees through over 70 majors.

University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center

The OU Health Sciences Center is composed of seven health-related colleges. The colleges are Medicine Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health and Graduate. The university is also recently began construction on the OU Cancer Institute. It is one of the primary centers in the world for genome studies. Students can earn bachelors, masters and doctorates at the university.
